Late To The Party
Yes, we here at the stay spun are a fan of the remixes. It’s quite interesting how artists and bands will go to electro remixers and vice versa to slowly make a name for themselves. In turn, there has been quite the explosion in the remix game. Technology has allowed for some straight amazing stuff. Sonically I get so hyped these days by where artists are taking it. Sh@t is ri-dic-u-lous. That said there’s also a fair amount of crap out there, and its quite frustrating and time consuming wading through it. One band that I saw get some attention was Late of the Pier. Their songs have worked out well for the remixing game as Switch, Boyz Noise, Youth Attack, Metronomy, as well as others. They are a four piece english band hailing from Castle Donnington. They came out before MGMT, and I think got a little overshadowed (don’t get me wrong MGMT are talented as hell and better). Anyways the synths are rather tasty, but not unbelievable or extraordinary. Some might compare them to the Klaxons (also better), but that’s not fair to either party. I think they are like 16 and 17, maybe slightly older. The twist is the remixes kick serious ass. Switch and Boyz Noise come in quite correct form. Space and the Woods and Focker are niice. I’ll let it all speak for itself.
