Armani XXXchange (Alex Epton) is a producer for the group Spank Rock. He along with Chris Rockswell (Chris Devlin), Ronnie Darko (Ronald Rubarth) did some great stuff. “XXXchange studied at Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, then briefly the New England Conservatory before decamping for New York and a stint drumming with the indie electronic group Zero Zero, whose 2001 album AM Gold was produced by the highly sought-after DFA camp; he also earned a production apprenticeship at DFA, assisting James Murphy and Tim Goldsworthy” (billboard). Spank Rock’s album YoYoYoYoYo was released in 2006 and launched their careers. Unfortunately its been quite a while since we’ve heard much from the whole crew (which also includes mc spank rock and amanda blank). Xxxchange has remixed santogold, james pants, beck, best fwends, panda bear, thom yorke, daedelus, as wells others. Additionally he, fully fitted (also check out their blog) along with devlin and darko, started fully fitted, a loose group that has put out an ep of re-edits that’s damn good. It features the talents of Amanda Blank, Pase Rock (Five Deez), !!!’s Tyler Pope, and Sylvia of Kudu. There’s quite a bit in the songs to digest. Part electro, part b-more, it all fits well together. We’ve already posted some Eric Prydz here at the stay spun, but this song pjanoo is quite nice. The loop is catchy as hell and will definitely get stuck in your head. Plus the remixes are pretty sweet (Excel’s b-more is my fav). I’ve never been to Ibiza, but I could imagine this song killing there at 4 in the morning or something.
