So Holy Fuck is coming to minneapolis, the 7th st entry to be exact, this sunday (tickets only $10). I ‘ve been a fan for a number of years now. Not your typical stay spun material as there are no laptops or turntables, but they can create some crazy distorted grooves. They hail from toronto and have been around since 2004. You might have heard their radiohead remix of nude (in rainbows). I first heard milkshake from their self titled LP (2007) and its a sweet distorted, bass driven builder with shoe gazing synths. I also love their remix of sally shapiro (another TSS fav), its surprisingly (removes the disco feel almost entirely) different but they still complement her well. They gained a ton of acclaim in 2007, voted by many as one of the best acts of the year. It’s been relatively quiet as of late, but it sounds as if there’s a new album coming out hopefully in september. We’ve got a couple tracks from their self-titled LP and a number of remixes to give a taste. Recently they dropped the track jungle which seems to pick up right where they left off.
