So as you may know we are at TSS are huge fans of the nightshifters label (ac slater, dj donna summer, rob threezy, dj rampage, etc.). So this post on Rob Threezy is a long time coming. I first heard of the chicago dj with ‘the chase’ (released on maddecent) and fell in love with the ravey synth stabs and massive air raids. He along with rampage, and maddjazz are part of the chicago dj collective ghetto division. Nightshifters is a perfect fit for threezy, and has released a couple of vinyls that have pushed him further into the spotlight. The great thing is that his tracks have continued to get better, and should kill on the dance floor these days. Most recently he’s dropped the change up (6/02 on nightshifters), that brings in some bassline, and the monster jokers on the scene remix adds some taste dubstep. My favorite tracks of his are the chase, xplosion, and your love. So I’m going to drop a few originals, and a few remixes. I also highly recommend the Jokers of the Scene, and Mikix the Cat (will prob get his own post soon) remixes. Def cop the change up on nightshifters, there’s 4 originals and 3 remixes (also has a dj sega remix that is unreal!) (Beatport). I can’t get enough bass these days, so to end this a couple of old bass tracks (miami bass anyone?). Its all pretty over the top, and the nineties were waay ridiculous. So much of old school hip hop is sooo cheesy now but it has its place. Regardless, its def powerful on the dancefloor with a nice system. Lastly the DJ Laz track is hilarious.
