nothin 2 step 2

probably one of the funnest things about blogging- its a journey. i know thats corny. more often than not, as with any creative process, i go in with something i wanna blog about, and it mutates along the way. the reason, cuz i learn along the way. thats why enjoy about it. research + creativity = solid learning. im a total learner. im happiest discovering. IMO, man’s noblest characteristic is his indelible drive to discover. RIP NASA. i started writing one post and ended up writing another. cool.

i was lisnin to sammy bananas portion of INDWT bbc mix and ran across a song that really hit me and resonated. it’s thunderheist‘s nothin 2 step 2. love isis’ vocals in the track. they’ve got that early 90′s detroit feel to em. like some 3am cool breeze hot summa shit. destro? so, i hunted down some remixes of the tune and here they are for your listening enjoyment.
thunderheist – nothin 2 step 2 (mediafire)
sammy‘s remix makes the track a little more club friendly. still feels a bit sub-par for a fool’s gold release.
and here is sammy’s nicky digital pre-party jamz mixtape- check it out.
next is a minimal remix by idiotproof with a vocal chop. good feel. idiotproof is a trio of tech/mini/house dudes from UK. kinda pumped that minimal is an up and coming recycled meme this year. the cool thing about minimal is that it typically obeys a purism thats been a little lost in the cross-genre stuff. i like where these new minimal guys are taking it, updating it with some fidgety synths and vocals. check out idioproof’s label made to play. here’s the track.
next up, futurecop! you know these two do what they do. like some old john hughes OST stuff with the pella from isis. not my fave remix of this. wattyall think? is it destro? (still one of my fave alltime mixes futurecop! – we are the future so i can forgive em for a bad remix)
last is trevor loveys remix. this one bangs the hardest. little bit of bassline + fidget bubblin up to sharpen up your destro. trevor was part of machines dont care w/ sinden, herve, fake blood, detboi, drop the lime, toddla t and affie yusef… aka everyone ever. there are elements of MDC all over this remix. cop it. bump it on your celica.
here is a thunderheist interview done by above the fold to close.
**BONUS**

already have dropped heat by Starks & Nacey. the new single uses a sample from ‘inner city‘s – big fun’ i love the track. diva vocals. rhodes stabs. bmore influence. got some bump and some wonk and some destro on it. nice and airy like an early 90′s 3am breeze. dont fuckin sleep on this. holla.
