Sneakin Sally Through the Alley – Robert Palmer

So one of my alltime fav nu-italo-disco singers, sally shapiro, finally dropped her second original album last tuesday. Get it from Amazon or Beatport. The album is amazing and the production, handled again mostly by johan agebjoern, is utterly spectacular. Her voice is so dreamy and smooth and agebjoern’s production matches it so well. She perfectly catches that initial feeling of love that never quite gets the chance to be explored; a melancholic yearning for love that could have been. I’m a bit sentimental, but man its good. Singles for love in july, and miracle came out earlier this year with some great remixes from CFCF among others. Moonlight dance, my fantasy, and looking at the stars are my stellar favs. She is nothing short of a Swedish italo-disco princess. There is a veil of mysteriousness that surrounds Sally Shapiro as does she not perform anymore, and sally shapiro is only her singing pseudonym (her real name is unknown as of yet).
