NYTEOWL

So Nyteowl, Jeremiah Conlon, is mpls local who’s been putting out his own brand of synth pop since 1997. His single ‘Bring Back Da Funk’ garnered him some praise a few years ago. Since then he’s started his own label, nytetraxx, to release local electronic music. Along the way, he began collaborating with Tim Clausen (T.I.M.) on bass to create the nyteowl sound. He has a new album dropping in April titled Romantic Life, and he gave us a few tracks to throw up for yall. I’m liking what I hear. The basslines are nice and funky, the synths are dreamy, and the vocals smooth. The hook on sexspiration ‘I wanted to see tonight girl, I wanted to see you tonight’ works so well. Romantic Life is an epic track with a great bassline that opens up into rising synths. There’s cd release show on April 24th with Lookbook and foodteam at the hexagon, and another may 12th with claps and tailchaser at the kitty cat klub. Thanks to Nyteowl for the look, I’m sure 2010 will be a stand out year for him.

NyteTraxx Records announces the April 20, 2010 release of Romantic Life, the new full length album from Minneapolis-based electronic pop artists, Nyteowl. Inspired by the music of the 80’s and French electronica, the group’s debut album bursts at the seams with dance beats and infectious rhythms. Jeremiah Conlon’s clean tenor is layered with bright keyboard melodies and driven by synth bass lines from longtime collaborator Tim Clausen. Romantic Life takes listeners back to the best of what 1980’s synthpop had to offer: energy, mood and lush components of sound.
