Sexuality Remixed

Back in April, Sebastien Tellier dropped a remix album of his acclaimed Sexuality album. I’ve been trying to get my hands on a good quality of penguin prison‘s remix of fingers of steel for a while now. Unfortunately it has only been available in Europe up until now. I’m a big fan of the original album and there have been some amazing remixes the likes of Boys Noize, Floating Points, Breakbot, Aeroplane, A-Trak, Moullinex, Danger, etc. etc. They’re all collected here. Universe recently dropped a nice remix of Kilometer, though I still think the Moulinex remix is my favorite. The floating points remix is an epic journey though the grey undefinable area of UK Funky/Garage. Floating Points has some big songs this year. It sounds like Tellier will be dropping a new album later on this year. I’m interested to see where he takes it, and how its received. Sexuality was a huge hit in his home country of France and produced by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo (half of Daft Punk). There’s something about the pop sensibilty of Divine that still makes me smile.

Some Current favorites. Memory Tapes has really been surprising me lately, and going in a very different but intriguing direction. Seems like some of the time his spent in Europe and the UK may have rubbed off a little, check his remix off the new Boy 8 Bit ep., and the Chapel Club remix. I’m really enjoying the percussion and tone changes he’s made. He’s always done a good job of working in his different interests and incorporating previous styles.
