U-Tern
U-Tern is a great DJ from Vancouver. He recently dropped a phenomenal remix of the new Holy Ghost tune, ‘Say My Name.’ His brand of electronic disco house is excellent. There’s a lot of disco out there, but his tunes have stuck around my collection for a reason. The melodies and hooks are legit. I mentioned it in an earlier post, but his edition of Neoteric’s White Light Mix Series is something special. From the opening surreal remix of the epic Van Halen guitar solo masterpiece to old favorites like Wagon Christ, and Level 42, this mix is a serious journey. It’s a bit old, but I still love his mash of The Dream and Kris Menace too. He also hosts a radio show on Brooklyn Radio, One Day Later, check Brooklyn Radio’s site for previous shows. Additionally he also has a stellar blog, of the same name, One Day Later. There’s a ton of good info and edits. Peace!

I really wanted this mix a be different from anything I’ve done in the past. With my radio show (One Day Later) I’ve been fortunate enough to share the music I love for the last 5 years, so doing a mix series like White Light was not a huge departure from mixes I’ve done in terms of musical freedom. With that in mind I decided to take a more literal approach to the theme’s of space, night driving and introspection. I wanted to go deeper musically and tell a story at the same time, try to think of the cover art as a poster to a film you have yet to watch. I hope you enjoy it, thanks for listening!
